About
Who writes this, and why
ThriftProfit is published by Appusta, the team that builds Thrift Snap. The site exists to be useful on its own and to introduce the app to people it would genuinely help. Both halves of that are stated plainly rather than hidden.
How we source figures
Fee percentages, per-order charges and payout costs are read directly from each marketplace’s own published fee documentation, and every page that quotes them carries the date they were verified and a link to the source. We do not carry numbers over from other blogs, and while researching this site we found several widely-repeated figures that did not match the marketplace’s own documentation.
What we label as estimates
Only eBay publishes real completed-sale data. Anything presented about Poshmark, Depop or Mercari pricing is an estimate, and is labelled as one — on this site and inside the app. Category rankings, time-to-sell bands and “what sells best” advice are practitioner consensus, not measured statistics, and each guide says so in its method note rather than dressing judgement up as data.
Our incentives
This site carries no advertising and no affiliate links. It is funded entirely by Thrift Snap subscriptions, which means we make money when the app is worth paying for — not when you click something. That is a cleaner incentive than most sites in this category have, and it is also why the profit calculator is free, has no email wall, and works without the app.
Where the app is the right answer, the guides say so. Where a free method works fine, they say that too — the pricing method in how to price a thrift find costs nothing and needs no software.
Corrections
Marketplace fees change, sometimes with little notice. If you find a figure on this site that no longer matches the marketplace’s own documentation, email appthego@gmail.com and we will correct it and update the verification date. Every guide shows when it was last updated.
What this site is not
Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice, and nothing here is an authentication service. Resale outcomes depend on your local market, your sourcing and your timing. The guides describe method; they do not promise income.
